Parent-Child Clinical Services Program
The Parent-Child Clinical Services Program is a licensed outpatient mental health clinic that offers a comprehensive approach to the early identification, treatment and prevention of emotional, behavioral and developmental problems in infants, young children and their families.
Using a family-centered, developmental approach, the multidisciplinary staff members provide a wide range of assessment, treatment, consultation and training services to promote children's healthy development, enhance parenting capacities and foster positive parent-child relationships.
Population Served
The Lourie Center offers a range of therapeutic services to families with young children from birth to 10 years. Through family-centered approaches, the Program serves young children who are demonstrating a wide range of social, emotional, developmental and/or behavioral problems including:
- Early childhood trauma, including abuse and/or neglect
- Difficulties in peer relationships
- Attachment and separation problems
- Excessive shyness or fearfulness
- Difficulty with transitions from one activity to another
- Trouble with eating or sleeping
- Difficulty accepting limits and structure from parents or other adults
- Depression and other mood regulation problems
- Aggressive or disruptive behavior
- Perceptual and sensory integration problems
- Emotional regression or other reactions to life stresses
- Learning difficulties
