The Lourie Center School is seeking the following positions for the 2010-2011 school year:

Special Education Teacher -FT

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in special education. Master's Preferred.
  • Must be certified or be eligible for certification for Early Childhood/Elementary special education from by the Maryland State Department of Education, obtaining or holding either a conditional, standard, or advanced teaching certificate.
  • A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in Early Childhood/Elementary special education is preferred.
  • Experience teaching children with emotional disturbance a PLUS!

Special Education Teacher Assistant -FT

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in special education, education or related field.
  • Experience in Early Childhood/Elementary special education or education is preferred.
  • Experience teaching/working with children with emotional disturbance a PLUS!

One to One Aide-FT

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in psychology, education, special education or related field.
  • Experience working with children-experience with children with emotional disturbance a PLUS!

Pediatric Occupational Therapist-FT

  • Requires a Bachelor's of Science degree in occupational therapy with knowledge of sensory integration and neurodevelopmental assessment and treatment approaches for young children.
  • The clinician must also understand the ways in which motor and sensory processing problems impact on social/emotional and cognitive areas and how to treat children with serious emotional disorders
  • Maryland licensure is required.

Mental Health Clinician

  • A Master's degree in social work and licensure in Maryland as a Licensed Certified Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) or a degree and license in a related clinical therapy field.
  • In-depth knowledge of the social-emotional development of young children and of clinical mental health services, especially with children and families.
  • A minimum of two years of post-master's degree experience. Demonstrate knowledge of and experience in providing individual, family and group psychotherapy. Experience in working jointly with a range of families and young children with disabilities in a school or special education environment.
