Dr.
Elizabeth Piserchia Kaplan serves as the director
of Parent-Child Clinical Services at The Reginald
S. Lourie Center for Infants and Young Children,
an organization affiliated with Adventist HealthCare.
In this role, Dr. Kaplan oversees the Lourie Center's
Fussy Baby Service, Parent-Child Program, Child
Placement Consultation Team, Early Childhood Training
and Consultation Service, Group Therapy Program
and the Public-Private Partnership with Montgomery
County's governmental Early Childhood Services.
Dr.
Kaplan has been with the Lourie Center for 17 years.
Prior to her current director role at the Lourie
Center, Dr. Kaplan served as chief psychologist
and senior clinical psychologist, as well as gaining
experience as a graduate fellow in psychology and
research associate. In addition, Dr. Kaplan co-chairs
the Advanced Psychotherapy Training Program at the
Washington School of Psychiatry in Washington, DC
and operates a private practice in Rockville, Maryland.
She has taught language development, attachment
theory, developmental psychology and other topics
and is qualified as an expert witness on child clinical
psychology, infant mental health and attachment.
Dr.
Kaplan completed her doctorate in psychology at
Boston University. She earned a master's degree
in special education from Boston College and a bachelor's
degree in psychology from Boston University.
