Special Announcement

April 2009

For Members of the Lourie Center Community:

It is with mixed feelings that I announce Tracye Polson's resignation as executive director of the Reginald S. Lourie Center for Infants and Young Children effective May 1, 2009. Tracye's positive contributions to the success of the Lourie Center will be missed. However, I am pleased for Tracye because she will be able to devote substantially more time to completing her Ph.D. in Clincial Social Work at Smith College which is so important to her.

The Lourie Center's Board of Directors, William "Bill" Robertson, President of Adventist HealthCare, Inc, of which the Lourie Center is an affiliate, and I fully support Tracye's decision, and wish her the very best in reaching her educational goals. We are also pleased that Marcel Wright will take over as interim Executive Director, while the Board of the Lourie Center leads a local and national search for a permanent executive director candidate.

Marcel has provided exemplary leadership as a senior manager within Adventist HealthCare for the past seven years, and we are confident that he will help the Lourie Center sustain its momentum and grow stronger as an organization during this time of transition.

Please join me in thanking Tracye for her twelve years at the Lourie Center, particularly for her strategic leadership as the executive director for the past four years. Tracye is leaving us an inspiring legacy by which her staff members can continue the phenomenal service they provide to the young children and families in our community.

Sincerely,
Paula S. Widerlite
